The crib will go just to the right of the bed. It should arrive the first week in February.
 

We still need to hang valances and add a rocker and crib. The valances will come as part of a matched set (bed-in-a-bag). 

The room is nearly complete!

Renee and I have been busy decorating Kyle's room, as you can see from the photograph. Renee ordered a crib from JC Penney's which should be in sometime next week. We are particularly happy we could use the ships wheel my father made for me, when I was a baby. We also set up the bed frame that I used as a kid, for when Kyle outgrows the crib. Renee's mom sent out invitations for the shower, which will be held at our house on March 6th. We are registered at Target and Baby's R Us.

We are now signed up for first time parenting and child birth classes, and Renee is enrolled in a breastfeeding class. This will be challenging, as winter is a busy month for me at work. We conduct several test trips during this time of year.

Kyle has been rather active lately, and Renee is definitely feeling uncomfortable. We now have 10 pillows on our bed, only one of which I am able to use. It is now a 30 minute ordeal for her to get into bed and get comfortable!

First Post to Blog

Hello everyone, this is our first post to Kyle's blog. Renee and I are anxiously anticipation the birth of our first child. Ultrasound indicate that it will be a boy, and we have chosen the name Kyle Jacob Schmitz. We will use this bolg to document developments leading to his birth, and follow his life with us. We are currently working on redecorating a room in our house to be the nursery. Renee has chosen nautical border and a blue-gray paint. I look forward to doing most of the work this weekend, over the MLK holiday.

We will post ultrasound pictures in the near future.
